Overview:

Employees in every industry have the right to feel safe at work. Everyone in the workplace has a role to play when it comes to preventing and addressing bullying and harassment. This training program assists employers and employees to proactively address bullying and harassment in the workplace in accordance with the requirements set by WorkSafe BC and the BC Human Rights Code.

Instructional Objectives:

The Bullying and Harassment training program covers the following topics:

  • Workplace Violence
  • Bullying & Harassment
  • Sexual Harassment
  • Discrimination
  • Effects of Bullying and Harassment
  • The Role of the Bystander
  • Preventing Bullying, Harassment, and Discrimination 
  • Initiating the Complaint Process
  • Workplace Investigations
  • How to Support a Victim
  • Psychological Safety

Measuring Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the training, participants will understand:

  • What constitutes workplace violence;
  • What constitutes bullying, personal harassment, sexual harassment and discrimination under WorkSafe BC legislation and BC Human Rights Code;
  • The effects of bullying, harassment, and discrimination;
  • How to identify your role as a bystander of bullying, harassment and discrimination;
  • How to recognize the signs of bullying, harassment and discrimination;
  • How to respond if you are a victim of bullying, harassment and discrimination;
  • How to show support to fellow employees;
  • How to identify your role in creating a respectful workplace

Program Delivery & Assessment Methods:

Pivot HR Services instructors continuously assess participants comprehension and ability to apply learning concepts through a combination of facilitation, interactive discussion, group work, case studies, and relevant real-world examples. Pre & Post learning self-evaluations are delivered to provide participants with a measure of their knowledge and skills gained from training. Following training, participants are encouraged to connect with instructors via phone and e-mail should they need assistance and have questions to follow.
